10 Keys to Personal Power
Key 1: Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you’re going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."
Reflection: This key is telling us that clarity is you knowing what you want from the future as in having clear what you are working towards and what your goals are. If you do not have clarity on what you want you will be lost in what you want so you would be working minimum wages for people who did know what they wanted and works towards getting to where they wanted to be. I would apply this key to knowing what I want to study for when I go into college.
Key 2: Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."Reflection: This key is telling us if you have the ability to do something successfully efficiently many big opportunities will be waiting for you. having knowledge on what you know comes with skills and great performances you have learned. Experience is gained from the leadership you maintain. The potential you have with in, you know how to work by it and make excellent choices.
Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself “Is this the best use of my time?” before you start anything."
Reflection: This key is telling us that concentration is a personal power. Concentrating on accomplishing what you want for yourself is something you should do because it would help you a lot. Concentrating can help me pass my classes and graduate high school, I wouldn't be getting distracted.
Key 4: Common Sense
- Train your mind
- think things through
- listen to your intuition
- learn from setbacks
Reflection: This key is telling you to train your mind, for example; know when to not do curtain things. Think things through, like every decision you make think about what it will cause and more then ones. Learn from setbacks means do not do the same mistakes others do learn from them and make the best out of the lesson tough. Listen to your Intuition, listen to you yourself and others.
Key 5: Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."
Reflection: This key means to accept everyone's ideas. Everyone has creativity, learn how to use everyone's to make a great project. Being creative means to ask many questions to be creative in a sense to make something great.
Key 6: Consideration
"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life.""Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator. Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."
"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you’ll be the best educated person in history."
Reflection: Considering who you talk to in life determines who you will become. For example surrounding your self with successful and responsible people they will motivate you to do your best and achieve greatness. Consideration in who you wanna become is very important because you decide for yourself what type of person you wanna be.
Key 7: Consistency
"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."
Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work. Be the person that people can depend upon. That if you say you’ll do something you do it.."
Reflection: A consistent person is someone who you can depend. When looking for a job employers look for who are consistent and responsible.
Key 8: Commitment
"No success is possible without commitment. The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success.""Become totally absorbed in your work. Be totally committed."
Reflection: Success comes with commitment, you need to be committed to be successful. Committing to getting your work done can be something helpful anywhere you go.
Achieving in life comes with being a committed person because you need to be on track of where you want to go as a person in your career.
Key 9: Courage
"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."
Reflection: The fear people have to fail is the main reason they fail, meaning grow courage to do the things you want to achieve. A person who is afraid is going to be help back because they do not have courage. Courage is something everyone should have to go and get what they want for themselves.
Key 10: Confidence
"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again ."
Reflection: Confidence is something you gain. So it's fine if you are a shy person, practicing thing over and over again, helps you be confident. Practice plays a big part to having confidence. Do not hold back in doing things you are not sure about. Take risks. Become a confident person, achieving what you want the most.
